8th Commandment

13 Apr

We are to fear and love God so that we do not betray, slander, or lie about our neighbor, but defend him/her, speak well of him/her, and explain his/her actions in the kindest way possible.

Here is Luther’s explanation we see both what we should do and what we should not do. Do see the best in your neighbor. Don’t twist, lie, or demonize your neighbor. Because today I see this danger. When we are demonizing others, we are close to becoming demons ourselves.

So be careful. Stand for truth with humility and grace.
